Took My Heart

Hey guys! So today I decided I needed to do a little bit of song writing. I ended up taking a song I started about a year ago and finished it and this is what I came up with. I hope you all like it! Feel free to leave some feedback for me and don't forget to check up on the blog and Facebook for new updates!

Worship: Dealing with Sin

Psalms 100:4-5, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." As I was reading this verse the other day I couldn't help but wonder, is this a command or a consideration? Of course one would say its a command, but I think if we take a look at our lives we do not necessarily carry out our worship in that manner. Truth is, life is not always great and we don't always feel joyous and full of praise.

There are an infinite number of reasons why we don't feel good or long to give God praise but I want talk about just one, our sin. If we are being honest the majority of the time our worship is changed and affected by our sin. So often we think of ourselves as unworthy or less than adequate to even attempt to worship the almighty God. And somehow we make worship the last option we have to deal with our sin.

However I suppose that our perspective as Christians should change about our dealing with sin. What if rather than seeing our sin as a struggle and issue but an opportunity to worship (sacrifice to) the almighty God. For lack of better terms,
we should enter His gates with guilt and come into His courts with crap because thankfulness and praise is not determined by our worth but His.

Find joy in being His. He desires all of you not some. And as Psalm 100:3 says, "Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."

Thank for reading my first real blog. I hope you enjoyed it and if you did please comment so that we can further discuss this topic!
